Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how the Growpoints Android app handles information.

Guest mode and local progress

Growpoints works without an account. Your pet choices, actions, check-ins, Care, progress, reports, pause or archive state, reminders, and pet media are stored on your device.

Guest data is not uploaded. Android backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for Growpoints.

Optional Google sign-in and cloud backup

If you choose Continue with Google, Growpoints uses Firebase Authentication. Firebase receives and stores a Firebase user ID and, when Google supplies them, your email address, display name, profile-photo URL, and authentication metadata.

Growpoints stores the same identity fields locally to show your account status. Signing in attaches that identity to the existing on-device profile; it does not create an empty replacement profile.

Growpoints compares local and cloud progress and asks before the first upload, restore, or conflict choice. It never silently merges or replaces different progress.

When you approve cloud protection, Growpoints stores a versioned backup in the Cloud Firestore nam5 (United States) multi-region. The backup includes pet quests and growth state; Build and Reduce action names, rules, cues, and reasons; check-in and other progress events; Care reports; pet memories; app settings; and onboarding state. Action text may describe personal routines, including health or fitness routines if you choose to enter them. Authentication identity fields are not copied into the backup payload.

After a backup is protected, later local changes are backed up to the same account. This is a recovery feature, not continuous real-time multi-device synchronization. Signing out removes the account binding from this device while leaving local progress available in guest mode.

Analytics

Growpoints uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand activation, feature use, and retention. The service automatically processes an app-instance identifier, a masked IP address used to derive approximate location, device and app information, screen and session activity, and app lifecycle events.

Growpoints also records a limited product funnel: onboarding completion, guest continuation, account sign-in start, success, failure or cancellation, first Care, completion of a Build or Reduce action, the first successful progress backup, and successful progress restoration.

These events do not include your Firebase user ID, email, name, photo, habit name, habit rule, Care total, backup contents, or other free-form text. Advertising ID collection and ad-personalization signals are disabled. Growpoints does not set an Analytics User-ID.

Services not used

This release does not use Firebase Cloud Storage, Firebase App Check, Crashlytics, advertising SDKs, payment SDKs, AI services, or real-time cloud synchronization. Current pet media is bundled with the app or stored locally.

Use and sharing

Authentication data is used for sign-in and account management. Cloud backup data is used only to protect and restore your progress. Analytics data is used for product measurement and improvement. Google processes this data as a service provider for Firebase and Analytics under its applicable terms.

PlayZPD does not sell personal information and does not use the collected data for advertising.

Retention and deletion

Local progress remains on your device until you clear Growpoints storage or uninstall the app. The current cloud backup remains while your Growpoints account exists. A successful replacement schedules older backup versions for deletion; an interrupted, incomplete, or superseded copy may remain until cleanup or account deletion.

Firebase Authentication keeps logged IP addresses for a few weeks and keeps other authentication information until the account is deleted. Google states that deleted Authentication data is removed from live and backup systems within 180 days.

In Growpoints, open Account and choose Delete account. After recent Google authentication, the app deletes every Growpoints cloud backup for that Firebase user ID, deletes the Firebase Authentication identity, and removes its local account binding. If cloud deletion fails, identity deletion does not proceed. Local pet, action, Care, and progress data remains on the device as guest data unless you separately clear Growpoints storage or uninstall the app.

You can also request account deletion without the app through the public Growpoints account deletion page.

Your choices

You can use Growpoints as a guest, cancel Google sign-in, sign out, switch Google accounts, delete the connected account, or remove all local data through Android system settings. Google sign-in is not required for local check-ins.

Children's privacy

Growpoints is intended for users age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and have a privacy question, contact playzpdcom@gmail.com.

Security

Growpoints minimizes collection, keeps Room as the local source of truth, disables Android system backup, and uses encrypted connections for Firebase services. Firestore rules isolate each backup by authenticated user ID, and Growpoints validates backup version, record counts, and a SHA-256 checksum before restore. No app can guarantee perfect security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when app features or data practices change. The date above will be updated when a revised policy is published.
