GUP Privacy Policy

Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how PlayZPD handles information for GUP: Points Grow Pets. The English version of this Privacy Policy controls if there is any conflict with a translation or summary.

Intended audience

GUP is intended for adults, educators, parents, guardians, coaches, and group leaders who use points and virtual pet progress to support groups, classes, habits, chores, routines, activities, or similar motivational systems.

GUP is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 should not create an authentication account or submit personal information to GUP.

If you use GUP to track students, children, team members, or group members, initials remain the default. Adults may optionally enter a Name or Nickname and should avoid unnecessary identifying information.

Information we collect

Depending on the features you use, GUP handles the following categories of information:

• Authentication information processed by Firebase Authentication, including an email address, Firebase user identifier, login status, and authentication records. Google Sign-In may also provide a Google profile identifier and account name.
• Local app content, including optional custom Group names, Member initials, optional Member Names and Nicknames, pet progress, points, activity records, and app settings. GUP stores this content on the device and does not upload or sync it to PlayZPD or Firebase.
• Basic technical and security information that Android, Google, or Firebase may process as necessary to provide and protect authentication and platform services.

When you register or sign in with Email/Password, Firebase Authentication processes the credentials. PlayZPD does not receive or store your plaintext password.

When you use Google Sign-In, Google and Firebase may process account information such as your name, email address, Google profile identifier, and authentication token according to your Google account settings and the permissions shown to you.

GUP 0.3.0 does not access the Advertising ID and does not include Analytics or log personal information as analytics events.

If you email us for support, deletion, privacy questions, or other requests, we receive the email address and any information you choose to include in that message.

How we use information

We use authentication information to create and manage authentication accounts, keep users signed in, secure the sign-in service, and respond to support or privacy requests. GUP uses local app content on your device to show groups, members, points, pet progress, and settings; authentication does not upload or sync that local content.

Where required by law, we rely on appropriate legal bases such as providing the app and related services, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and securing GUP, and compliance with legal obligations.

Advertising, purchases, and subscriptions

Current status: GUP does not use third-party ads and does not use personalized advertising.

Future status: GUP may add optional Google Play in-app purchases, subscriptions, upgrades, or paid digital features. If paid features are added, payments will be processed by Google Play Billing. PlayZPD does not store your full payment card details.

Refunds, subscription cancellation, renewal, billing support, and related payment issues are subject to Google Play policies and the Google Play account controls available to you.

Data sharing

We do not sell user data. We do not currently share personal information for personalized advertising.

GUP does not upload or share local Group names, Member initials, Names, Nicknames, pets, points, activity records, or settings.

We may share information only as needed for the following purposes:

• With Firebase Authentication and Google as needed to register, sign in, sign out, secure, or delete an authentication account.
• With Google when you use Google Sign-In, Google Play, Android, or other Google services connected to the app.
• When required to comply with law, legal process, government requests, Google Play policies, or enforceable platform requirements.
• To protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of PlayZPD, GUP, users, or others.
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or transfer of relevant assets, subject to appropriate protections.

Retention and deletion

Firebase Authentication keeps authentication information as needed to maintain and secure your account. Local Group, Member, pet, points, progress, and settings data remains on your device.

You can delete the signed-in authentication account in GUP by opening Account, selecting Delete account, and confirming Delete account. You can also request help by emailing playzpdcom@gmail.com and including the email address used for Google Sign-In or Email/Password.

Deleting the authentication account does not delete local GUP content. It remains available for Guest/local use until you separately clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

Some records may be retained only if required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, or Google Play compliance reasons.

Children's privacy

GUP is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not create an authentication account or submit personal information through the app.

If you are an adult using GUP for a classroom, family, team, or group, do not enter personal information about children or group members unless you have the right to do so. Use nicknames, initials, or non-identifying labels whenever possible.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to GUP, contact us at playzpdcom@gmail.com so we can review and take appropriate action.

Privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain sharing or sale of personal information, and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable. We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, you may have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

International transfers

PlayZPD is based in the United States. If you use GUP from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where PlayZPD or its service providers operate. These countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.

Where required, we use reasonable safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No app, network, or storage system can guarantee perfect security, and you should use care when choosing what information to enter into GUP.

Limited product and education disclaimer

GUP is a points, motivation, organization, and virtual pet progress tool. It is not a school, learning management system, professional education service, medical service, legal service, or childcare service. GUP does not guarantee learning outcomes, behavior outcomes, grades, compliance outcomes, or other results.

Adults, educators, parents, guardians, coaches, and group leaders are responsible for deciding whether GUP is appropriate for their use, their group, and any applicable policies or laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if GUP changes how it handles information, including if future versions add new account features, cloud features, analytics, purchases, subscriptions, advertising, diagnostics, or other third-party services. When we update this page, we will change the effective date above or provide another appropriate notice.
